Saints keep marching on 25 Apr 2017

In Wellington, the Saints have moved to 10-0 with a comfortable 110-84 win over the Mike Pero Nelson Giants.

Shea Ili tallied 27 points, 10 assists and six steals for Wellington who played without their leading scorer Corey Webster who is recovering from a back injury.

Wellington held a 16-point lead at halftime despite the play of Finn Delany who carried the Giants, scoring 25 of his 30 points in the first half.

After the break the home side would push the lead out to 27 points, as the Giants showed the effects of having to play their third road games in the space of five days.

All Saint starters scored over double-digits points, making it the seventh straight time they have scored 100 or more points.

Kyle Adnam was the only other notable Giants scorer with 25 points, while their other leading scorer Dion Prewster suffered from early foul trouble against his former team.

Nelson drop to 2-8, but will try to regain some momentum when they host Taranaki this coming Saturday.
