Wellington Saints first import Andrew Warren has arrived after an exhausting 24 hour flight over Easter weekend from Indianapolis to Wellington.
The 1.96 metre American Guard has just finished playing in Cyrus for Apollon returning early after losing in the Quarter Finals.
Staring as a shooting guard at Bradley University between 2006 and 2010, Warren averaged 13 points per game for the Cairns Taipans in the 2011-12 Australian NBL season.
Warren graduated as the 10th-leading scorer in the school's history and also gained media coverage for his uncanny impersonations of US President Barack Obama.
Saints Coach Pero Cameron is delighted to have someone with Warren’s ability on the Roster. “He’s a great shooter, a solid defender, and he’s bought personality to the team environment since arriving.”
The Saints are hosting a pre-season tournament at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua this weekend giving an opportunity for most Bartercard NBL teams to have their first game together for the season.
