The Wellington Saints remain on top of the NBL with two more wins in Round Three.
The Saints got off to a strong start defaeting Taranaki 108-97.
American Torrey Craig has been terrific this season and stepped up big scoring 41 points, only one point of the record set by Mike Efevberha of 42 (since 2000).
The win did come at a cost though with small forward Leon Henry suffering a horrific fall after catching an alley oop.
Henry flipped in mid air and landed on his face, cause multpile fractures on his cheekbone. Henry has recovered well and will hope to be back on the floor as soon as possible.
Without Henry, the Wellington Saints had to travel to Invercargill to play against the talented Southland Sharks.
Wellington battled hard in particular from Craig and Lindsay Tait as they led the team to a 94-92 win.
Be sure to come to TSB Bank Arena at 7pm this Friday as the Saints host the very talented Waitakere Rangers, featuring NBL stars Casey Frank, Dillon Boucher and Reuben Te Rangi.
