The 2024 Season Closes
As the final buzzer sounded on our season, the Mills Albert Wellington Saints would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible fans, sponsors, and the wider community for being an integral part of our journey this year. While we are disappointed with the final result on the court, we want to celebrate the many highlights and successes that marked our season.
Throughout the season, your unwavering support has been the backbone of our efforts. From the deafening cheers at TSB Arena to the countless messages of encouragement, you’ve made every game a memorable experience. We are truly grateful for your dedication and passion.
This season brought several highlights, both on and off the court. We had some thrilling victories, including our gutsy wins against tough opponents like the Auckland Tuatara and the Taranaki Airs. Our players showed tremendous skill and heart, with standout performances from Ben Ayre, Izayah Le'Afa, Tohi Smith-Milner, and Terry Henderson Jr., to name just a few.
Off the court, we made significant strides in our community engagement efforts. Our coaching in schools program reached new heights, inspiring and mentoring young basketball enthusiasts across the Wellington region. We also had successful community activations that helped bring the joy of basketball to even more people.
A special mention goes to our new naming rights partner, Mills Albert. Their support has been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals this season, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.
As we reflect on the season, we also look ahead with optimism. We are excited to host the BNZ Breakers on December 7th, a thrilling matchup that promises to bring high-energy basketball back to Wellington. Additionally, our preparations for the 2025 season are already underway, and we are committed to coming back stronger and more determined than ever.
