Izayah Le'afa joins the 2023 squad.
The Wellington Saints have announced the signing of Izayah Le'afa for the upcoming National Basketball League season. Le'afa is no stranger to the Saints, having played for the team from 2013 to 2015.
Le'afa, a local product who attended St Patrick's College in Wellington, was a standout player for the New Zealand Breakers in the Australian National Basketball League, averaging 10.2 points and 2.7 assists per game. His experience and skill on the court make him a valuable addition to the Saints' roster as they look to compete for the championship this season.
"We're thrilled to have Izayah back with the Saints," said General Manager Jordan Mills. "He's a proven player with a great work ethic and a winning mentality. We're excited to see what he can do on the court this season."
Le'afa is equally excited to be back with the Saints, saying, "It’s a homecoming. I have great memories of playing for the Saints and I'm looking forward to helping the team win another championship."
We are excited to welcome Izayah into an already strong squad, as we look forward to this weekend against the Nelson Giants, and hope for a sell-out again.
