Lukah Richards Joins The Squad

The Wellington Saints are excited to announce the signing of promising young talent, Lukah Richards, for the upcoming season. Richards, originally from Ōtaki and an alumnus of St. Patrick's College, Wellington, has previously showcased his skills with the Manawatu Jets.
Saints CEO Jordan Mills expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating,
We are looking forward to Lukah putting a Saints singlet on this year. A young man we feel has a lot of talent and upside that we hope to unlock with Coach Aaron. Lukah being from Ōtaki but also spending time at St. Pat's Town has ties to our region and club. After spending time up in Manawatu at the Jets, he's come down to us here to improve his game under a proven talent developer in Aaron Young.
During his tenure with the Jets, Richards demonstrated significant potential. Notably, in a closely contested game against the Tauranga Whai on July 9, 2024, he contributed 16 points and secured 6 rebounds, underscoring his capability to perform under pressure.
In another matchup against the Southland Sharks on July 12, 2024, Richards delivered an impressive performance, recording 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Richards' return to the Wellington region marks a homecoming, and the Saints are eager to integrate his skills and local ties into their lineup. Under the guidance of Coach Aaron Young, known for his expertise in talent development, the team is optimistic about unlocking Richards' full potential in the upcoming season.
