Return of the Mac
The Wellington Saints are thrilled to annouce the return of Kenny McFadden as an assistant coach for the 2021 season.
"I’m absolutely thrilled to have Kenny’s support as an assistant coach with Saints this year. Kenny was doing outstanding work with our group prior to COVID shutting down the season in 2020 and has continued that right in to the pre-season this year. His Pied Piper-like connection with the local players is well documented, and ensures there is a pipeline of promising young players confidently and competently entering the Saints’ environment." says head Coach Zico Coronel.
After a stunning championship 2019 season with the Wellington Saints who went undefeated under Paul Henare, McFadden is back on the coaches bench.
"Kenneth Tuffin was reminiscing about attending Hoop Club as a youngster just the other day, for example! I’ve learned a lot myself from observing Kenny, working together over the years - hopefully, one day I can master metaphors and analogies within my pedagogy as well as Kenny. I believe our strengths complement each other well and our partnership can be instrumental in helping the cream to rise to the top."
CEO Jordan Mills is pleased to have the long time Saints veteran back on board. "We are priviledged to be able to welcome back not only an icon of the Saints but oue greatest player ever in the Clubs history. He is a great leader and someone we all love having around."
